Hisar, August 1
While the police have given a clean chit to the Anoop Ultrasound Centre in Hansi over its alleged involvement in conducting sex-determination tests, the Health Department has said it will not allow the centre to open till it gets clearance from the Forensic Science Laboratory.
Civil Surgeon Dr JS Grewal said here today after a meeting over the implementation of the PNDT Act that they would not open the centre till it got clearance from the laboratory.
Hisar IGP Anil Kumar Rao, however, said their investigation had cleared the Anoop Ultrasound Centre of the charges of conducting sex tests and they had conveyed this to the Health Department.
A radiologists’ association had resorted to a three-day strike in the district last week in protest against the sealing of the centre. They defended its owner Dr Anoop Malik.— TNS
