Flood calamity relief: Gujarat govt decides to walk extra mile

Gujarat Chief Minister has made announcements in connection with flood tragedy in north Gujarat.

As per central government’s CRF(calamity relief fund)scheme, each affected family gets Rs 3800 government relief. The state government has decided to add Rs 3200 from its own fund. Thus each affected family will get government assistance of Rs 7,000.

The state government has decided to walk extra mile to help cattle owners also.

As per Government of India’s standards, Rs 30,000 assistance is payable for each milk producing cattle dead in calamity. This sum is payable for maximum three cattle. However the state government has decided to pay Rs 40,000 per cattle instead of Rs 30,000. This assistance will be payable for not just three cattle but for five cattle. For deaths of the fourth and fifth cattle, Rs 30,000/cattle assistance will be payable. Thus for deaths of five cattle, the owner will get Rs 1,80,000 government assistance.

The state government will give extra assistance from its side in case of deaths of goat, bullock, horse etc also.
