CAMDEN, N.J. (AP) - Prosecutors say a former bookkeeper for a southern New Jersey property management business stole more than $189,000 from the firm.

Bail was set at $75,000 for Frank Santos, a 53-year-old Southampton resident charged with theft by unlawful taking. A telephone number for Santos could not be located Saturday, and it wasn’t known if he’s retained an attorney.

Camden County prosecutors say Santos stole the funds from Pennsauken-based MCR Services. They say the thefts began in November 2013 and ended in March 2015, when Santos was fired.

Santos allegedly used the money to pay off two personal credit cards.

Prosecutors say the cards were used to pay for items such as hotel stays and meals, motorcycles, liquor, clothing, video games and appointments at salons and waxing centers.
