Woman helps husband raping 13-year-old mentally challenged in Valsad

A 40-year-old man and his wife were booked by police on Saturday for allegedly raping a 13-year-old mentally challenged and handicap girl in Pardi village of Valsad district.

SURAT: A 40-year-old man and his wife were booked by police on Saturday for allegedly raping a 13-year-old mentally challenged and handicap girl in Pardi village of Valsad district. The wife did not allow the man to have physical relation with her due to poor health and helped him to rape the survivor. Police arrested the wife while the accused husband is on run.

Police booked Ramesh alias Chhitu Halpati, 40, and his wife Saku, 37, for allegedly raping the minor at their residence on July 25. The survivor complained of pain in private part after which her parents approached police on Saturday. Police got medical examination of the survivor done.
Police investigation so far revealed that the minor was playing outside her home when the accused called her in their house. She was forced to sleep on bed and Saku held her hand. Removing her clothes Ramesh raped her. She was later allowed to go home.
Daughter of farm labour, the survivor is mentally unstable and her one leg does not work properly. The accused couple are parent of a 22-year-old daughter and 14-year-old son. They are farm labour. Due to prolonged illness Saku’s physical condition is weak and she did not allow Ramesh to have physical relationship. Ramesh convinced Saku to help him to rape the minor after which they committed the crime.
“Police arrested the wife and search is on to nab the accused man. Police are investigating the case,” said B J Sarvaiya, police sub inspector, Pardi.
