Deputy Commissioner Samba Sheetal Nanda today convened a meeting of prominent civil society members of the district and discussed with them the issues and problems faced by the local people.ADC Samba Pawan Sharma, SSP Samba, SDM Vijaypur, CEO, officers of PHE, PWD, PDD, Flood Control Departments were also present in the meeting.During the meeting, the civil society members highlighted local demands and problems confronted the people. They sought improvement in the power scenario and augmentation of water supply.
The members demanded replacement of electricity poles and wires and repair of roads which got damaged during floods, protection during floods, installation of traffic Signals at Main Chowk Samba, shifting of bus stand, regular market checking and measures to keep stray animals away from the main roads which sometimes lead to accidents.The DC Samba gave a patient hearing to the demands raised by the civil society members. The DC Samba gave directions to officers of PHE and PDD departments to redress the problems related to power and water supply. She further directed Flood Control department to take preventive measures to avoid loss to life and property during floods. She assured to them that all their genuine demands will be redressed on top priority. Prominent citizens appreciated the efforts of district administration Samba for taking concrete measures to solve people’s issues.
