Jammu, Aug 1 (UNI) Lt Gen NPS Hira will be taking over as new Chief of Staff of Northern Command at Udhampur today.  "Lt Gen Hira will be the new Chief of Staff of Udhampur based Northern Command," official sources here told UNI. They said Gen Hira has been relieved as GOC 11 Corps in Jalandhar. "Lt Gen Hira has replaced Lt Gen Praveen Bakshi, who has been appointed as Army Commander, Eastern Command," sources said. Sources further said as the Lt Gen Philip Compose has attained superannuation today as Vice Chief of Army Staff (New Delhi), he has been replaced by Lt Gen MMS Rai, who was Army Commander, Eastern Command. Meanwhile Lt Gen KH Singh, who has recently been transferred from Nagrota (Jammu) based 16 Corps has taken over as Commandant, Infantry School, Mhow. UNI VBH PY SY 2140
