Senior Yakshagana artiste Hosthota Manjunath Bhagavat and Yakshagana scholar Shimantur Narayana Shetty will be felicitated during the Deraje Sitaramayya birth centenary celebrations to be held here on August 2.
According to a press release, the celebrations will be organised by the Yakshagana Kalaranga, Deraje Sitaramayya Birth Centenary Celebrations Committee, Deraje Sitaramayya Cultural Foundation, and Karnataka Cultural Foundation at the Nutana Ravindra Mantapa on MGM College campus at 3.30 p.m.
Writer Areya Laxminarayana Alva will preside over the centenary celebrations. Writer Lakshmeesha Tolpady will deliver the Deraje memorial lecture, and writer Prabhakar Joshy will deliver the felicitation address.
A Yakshagana performance ‘Moha Maneka’ will be staged.
