It’s that time of year when Oakland’s streets spill over with good music and good vibes. The Art + Soul festival is celebrating its 15th anniversary with a certifiably funky lineup of live performers that includes the classically trained pianist and emcee Kev Choice (pictured), percussionist Sheila E. and Sly’s old friends in the Family Stone. There will also be circus acts, dance exhibits and a national poetry slam, along with a variety of children’s activities and cutthroat barbecue competition.
