Layoffs continue at some of the largest tech and life science firms in the Triangle (Parexel, Qualcomm the most recent), and a survey last week from NCSU noted that startups are less inclined to hire right now, too. But there are jobs available as Red Hat reported in its own survey, which WRAL TechWire reported early Friday.

Plus, ExitEvent reports 15 startups are hiring as well as the Council for Entrepreneurial Development.

Also, the Triangle Business Journal reports that GSK is adding jobs at its production plant in Zebulon.

And contract research organization INC says it continues to hire, the TBJ notes.

The message?

Keep looking.

Companies such as IBM, for example, have multiple postings for open jobs.
