“If this deal is consummated, it will make the Obama administration the world’s leading financier of radical Islamic terrorism,” he said on Tuesday.
However, such kind of remarks at a time when another Republican candidate Donald Trump is winning in the polls shows that Cruz is just desperately trying to draw media attention to his persona by challenging Barack Obama to debate.
President Obama himself considered this the reason for Cruz’ “outrageous attacks” as he responded to the Texas senator’s allegations during his speech from Ethiopia on Monday.
“We’ve had a sitting senator, who also happens to be running for president, suggest that I’m the leading state sponsor of terrorism.” Obama said. “Maybe this is just an effort to push Mr. Trump out of the headlines, but it’s not the kind of leadership that is needed for America right now.”
Failed 2012 Presidential candidate Mitt Romney, among other politicians, took the current president’s side by condemning Cruz on his twitter account.
I am opposed to the Iran deal, but @SenTedCruz is way over the line on the Obama terrorism charge. Hurts the cause.

Supporters of the deal say the concerns of Islamic terrorism profiting from the Iranian Nuclear Agreement are groundless as the deal’s main focus is to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon and it may push the Islamic Republic to change its regional policies.
“Iran can’t go back to being a legitimate member of the family of nations if it doesn’t stop all its activities that are not included in the agreement — its subversive activities, its support of terror groups, weapons proliferation,” said Amos Yadlin, a retired air force general and former head of Israeli military intelligence, the Washington Post reported.
Congress has a total of 60 days to look over the deal so much desired by the White House.
