A unique Fiat 500 was under the spotlight at the 2015 “I Defend Gala” held in Monaco in mid-July, a charity benefit for Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Europe (RFK Europe).

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles offered up a stunning one-of-a-kind edition Fiat 500, that went on to fetch a whopping €55,000 (almost $80,000 CDN) in silent auction.

The gelato bianco-coloured car started as the very first new Fiat 500 off the 2016 model production line - a Lounge convertible version equipped with a 1.2 L 4-cylinder engine delivering 69 horsepower.

Italian artist Stefano Conticelli (founder of the Bottega Conticelli design house) used natural weather-treated honey-coloured calfskin to highlight the wheel arches, rear lights, headlights and chrome grille (see photos).

The car also features a picnic basket perched on the rear trunk and mahogany-covered side view mirrors - an homage to Italy’s famous Riva boats.

The auction raised a total of € 300,000 (over $420,000 CDN) for RFK Europe.
