Sunny skies, lower humidity into the weekend

Skies will be bright and sunny for the foreseeable future with a slight chance for scattered showers this weekend, the National Weather Service said.

Humidity on Friday will drop to more pleasant levels as dry air moves in across the state, according to Alan Dunham, a weather service meteorologist. Highs will be near 90, he said.

There will be a slight chance for isolated showers Saturday evening as a weak cold front moves through, but the weekend will otherwise be dry and sunny, Dunham said. Highs on Saturday will be in the upper 80s.

Temperatures from Sunday through the beginning of next week will remain in the mid- to high 80s, and there is little to no risk of rain, Dunham said.

"Through next Thursday is looking really good," Dunham said. "It's a good week for people heading out on vacation."
