SURAT: As private airlines continue to mull and ponder over the potential of STV, Nashik-based Shrinivas Airlines is poised to commence flights from Surat to Mumbai and Surat to Nashik.
Come August, and its six-seater King Air C90 B aircraft will commute Surtis to the above mentioned destinations.
"We have begun taking bookings August 11 and onward for the Surat-Mumbai-Nasik route.
The schedules will be announced by the first week of August," said Hemant Wani, the company's spokesman.
The company is also in the process of purchasing two more 10-seater aircrafts and will provide further connectivity to Pune and be instrumental in providing regular connectivity to and from Surat. Since Pune airport is functional only after 11'o'clock, we have a meeting scheduled for airlines to discuss timings and connectivity on August 1.
Frequent flyer Rahul Gaywala, CEO at Sahajanand Technologies Pvt. Ltd, said, "The Surat-Mumbai air connectivity will be a boon to C-class executives and businessmen in Surat and South Gujarat who form the majority of travellers at the CS International Airport. It will cut short the six-hour road trip which is often risky at times apart from being time consuming."
The airline will provide connectivity to Indore, Ahmedabad and Hyderabad via Maharashtra. Bookings for the said flights can be done directly via the company's website. The fare for Surat-Mumbai and Surat-Nashik will be Rs 6,500 each.
NRG Sulbha Patel from Bardoli said, "Air connectivity to Mumbai and Shirdi will be a blessing in disguise to NRIs visiting home. It is not just air connectivity, it is emotional connectivity."
