SURAT: 'Mujko paisa tu deta rahe, mere liye kamayi rahe, teji-mandi me tu mera, tere bina kya mera, dusra dhandha kaise karu, Teri chamak meri jaan, tera mera ye diamond, synthetic ho ya natural, isko kaise me parkhu' (you keep giving me money, earning continues, during inflation or deflation you are mine, nothing is without you. How can I do other business, your sparkle is my life, diamond is your and mine, whether it is synthetic of natural, how would I test it).
The verses are from a song on diamond industry's present scenario that is meant for the listener to forget about the gloomy environment prevailing in diamond polishing sector.

The song that has been penned by a pediatrician, its video edited by a diamond unit owner and sung by a diamond polisher urges those associated with industry to keep up their confidence as this phase will also pass.
"I come across many families at my hospital and during social work that are affected by the slowdown in diamond industry. With the song I have tried to boost their confidence have faith in the industry. I have attempted to show the plight but also explained that it is a phase that will pass," said Nihal Patel, a pediatrician.
The video of the song has been produced by Vipul Tejani, a diamond unit owner, and Tejas Patel, an employee in Tejani's unit has sung the song.
"To create awareness among diamond workers we do such projects and share with people. Hope with this we can create some positive thinking among workers," said Nihal, who runs social work NGO.
"With photos and video in the song have we tried to show the plight of artisans who are ready to work but not getting their dues because of slow down," said Vipul, who had to increase lunch time by 30 minutes due to less work in his unit.
The video was shot in various diamond units and a collection of photographs and quotes were used for the five minute video. Nihal also penned a poem recently in Gujarati urging all classes in diamond industry to maintain their confidence in the industry which has given them so much.
