Sri Durga Malleswara Swamyvarla Devasthanam has distributed 600 kg of kadambam, a dish made of vegetables and pulses, to the devotees visiting the temple to take part in Sakambari festival on second day on Thursday.

Temple Executive Officer Ch. Narsing Rao said 55,000 devotees visited the temple on first day of the festival. About 90,000 devotees thronged Indrakeeladri on second day. The crowd was expected to be more on the third day as it coincides with Friday, he said.

The devotees donated 15 tonnes of vegetables last year for the festival. This year, 24 tonnes of vegetable were received. A few more tonnes of vegetables were expected on third day also. The temple used a portion of the vegetables for preparation of kadambam as all donations could not be used for decoration. The kadambam was distributed at a single counter on first day.
