Omar reviews progress of works in Beerwah

Beerwah, July 29: National Conference Working President and MLA Beerwah, Omar Abdullah today conducted a tour of Beerwah constituency and reviewed the progress of ongoing works including the macadamization of the Magam-Beerwah-Budgam road.
The NC Working President was accompanied by NC chief spokesperson and MLA Budgam, Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi and his Political Secretary, Tanvir Sadiq.
Omar visited Gundipora, Beerwah, Magam, Punchgund and Narbal and inquired about ongoing works in the constituency and also ascertained the follow up by the local administration on the resolution of various public issues and grievances.
He said the condition of the four-lane highway leading to Gulmarg constructed during the tenure of the previous Government was not up to the mark and the State Government should focus on the road’s proper maintenance and upkeep. The NC Working President said since this particular highway leads to a world renowned tourism destination that was an integral part of the State’s tourism profile, the State Government should prioritize its proper maintenance.
He also ascertained the working of various Government departments in Beerwah and took note of issues raised by the public.
