Rich tributes paid to Abdul Kalam

Mayor Akula Sujatha led the municipal corporators and staff in paying homage to former President APJ Abdul Kalam, at the civic body office here.

She along with the local MLA Bigala Ganesh Gupta paid floral tributes and garlanded the portrait of the departed soul. The corporators and the municipal staff joined them and observed a two-minute silence in respect of the ex-President.

Speaking on the occasion, they recalled the services of the departed leader. . He was a great scientist, teacher and spread the greatness of the country across the world, they said. Dr. Kalam will be remembered for ever for his selfless services to the nation, they added.

Karimnagar Special Correspondent writes: Faculty of Satavaha University paid rich tributes to the former President on the campus on the outskirts of Karimnagar town on Thursday.

Vice-Chancellor K Veera Reddy, Registrar M. Komal Reddy, controller of examinations T. Bharath, assistant registrar Y Kishore and others participated in the meeting.

Similarly, University College of Pharmaceutical Sciences too held a condolence meeting.
