Institute to be named after Kalam

A digestive research institute attached to the Travancore Medical College Hospital here to be launched soon will be christened in the memory of the former President of India A.P.J. Abdul Kalam who passed away on Monday.

This was announced by the college Principal, Kurien Palliyidil, at a programme organised at the college on Thursday to condole the death of Abdul Kalam.

Dr. Palliyidil said that the upcoming A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Memorial Travancore Institute of Digestive Diseases will be an excellence centre to provide modern treatment for digestive problems and research on the disease.

In his condolence message the Principal said that Abdul Kalam who took the country to new heights in space research always nursed a yearning to be a teacher.
