AMMAN — The EU has donated 2 million euros to UNRWA in support to the agency’s response to the crisis of Palestinian refugees from Syria, currently residing in Jordan, an UNRWA statement released Thursday said, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh said this week that Jordan stands against any cuts or austerity measures that might affect the quality or scope of UNRWA services, particularly in the education and health sectors. Moreover he emphasised the agency should continue to offer its services to Palestinian refugees as long as the refugee problem continues to exist.
