HMRL spares land for Naga Devata

Telangana commercial tax minister, Talasani Srinivas Yadav intervened to resolve a long pending land dispute between the Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) and residents of Samba Murthy Nagar basti on Thursday.

HYDERABAD: Telangana commercial tax minister, Talasani Srinivas Yadav intervened to resolve a long pending land dispute between the Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) and residents of Samba Murthy Nagar basti on Thursday. The HMRL managing director, NVS Reddy agreed to spare about 35 square yards around the neem tree for the residents who offer prayers to Naga Devata and other deities there.

The minister met the people of the basti during his visit to the metro construction sites. He assured them that their interests would be taken care of.
He then inspected the works in the Old Gandhi Hospital area, near Secunderbad Railway Station and visited the mortuary land measuring 1.65 acres which was recently handed over by HMR to the Defence Authorities. Secunderabad West Metro station of corridor-II will be connected to the main Secunderabad Railway station with a skywalk for a length of nearly 200 mtrs providing landing facility to all the platforms of in the station.
Another skywalk would be built on the road in front of the railway station for a length of about one kilometre be connecting Secunderabad East Metro station of corridor-III, between Lekha Bhavan and Oliphenta bridge, said N V S Reddy. The Secunderabad East Metro station will also be connected to the main railway station through a skywalk
