Another ‘son rise’ in Mollywood

Suresh Gopi's son Gokul gears up for first film
Another ‘son rise’ in Mollywood
It seems to be the age of star sons in the Malayalam film industry.
Next in line is Suresh Gopi’s son Gokul, who will be making his film debut, through a romantic comedy titled Mudhugauv. To be directed and written by debutant director Vipin Das, the film will have Niranjana, niece of director Ranjith, as the lead actress. Vijay Babu will be seen playing the third important character, that of the villain.
“Gokul and Niranjana play college students in the film, and the story is all about how my character, named Rambo, gets involved in the couple’s life.
The film will be the first of its kind, its genre and treatment will be different from the usual,” says Vijay Babu.
The only thing Gokul is concerned about is comparisons, which are inevitable. He says, “My only request to everyone is not have over expectations from me. I’m another individual, whoever’s son I am.” Vijay Babu says that though Gokul liked the story they also ran it through Suresh Gopi, who also liked it. “Gokul has shed all the puppy fat now, and is on a full workout mode,” he adds.
Shoot of Mudhugauv will start in Pondicherry in mid-September. The rest of the cast is being finalised.
