ST. CLAIR SHORES, Mich. (AP) - Police have discovered six stolen motorcycles at a Detroit-area home, including one with a transmission that was reported stolen in Alabama more than 40 years ago.

Lt. Brian Barlog of the Macomb County sheriff’s office says the transmission was reported stolen in Mobile, Alabama, in 1973. It was part of a motorcycle that was built with a variety of parts and recovered last week in St. Clair Shores.

Barlog says Alabama authorities have been notified, but he doesn’t know if the transmission owner will be found.
