State Football championship at Bandipora

Director General Youth Services and Sports, Jehangir Ahmad Mir inaugurated the State Level Inter District Football Championship at S.K. Sports Stadium Bandipora today. The teams comprising Under-14 and Under-17 from 9 districts including one from Jammu and 8 districts from Kashmir division are taking part in this Championship.Among others, Additional Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, N.A. Baba, Deputy Director Central Youth Services Officer Bandipora besides other officers, Principals and prominent citizens were present on the occasion.Speaking on the occasion, Director General Youth Services and Sports said that Government has included sports sector in other priority sectors and for this purpose, all the possible facilities are being kept available for youth. He said that sports activities are important to become good citizens as it keeps physically and mentally fit. He asked the players to try hard and make themselves able to participate in national and international competitions. He further said that the two winning teams of this Championship will get the opportunity to participate in National level contests soon.The Director General Youth Services and Sports also distributed prizes among the winning and runner up teams of Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Volleyball and Football games recently played in the district.
