Kathryn Thomas is getting tired of questions about the 9am slot on RTE Radio 1.

As speculation mounts over who will replace John Murray after his show was axed last month, Kathryn has been fielding questions.

Ray D'Arcy, Brendan O'Connor, and Ryan Tubridy have been tipped to fill the slot, with Ryan favourite to be announced for the gig in the coming days.

However, while the Voice of Ireland presenter is poised to fill Ray D'Arcy's seat at the station for the month of August, she says she has no insider information on the announcement.

"There is still much speculation in the RTE camp as to what is happening with the 9am slot on Radio One," she wrote in her Irish Daily Star column.

"I wish they would announce it so that people will stop asking me to give them the inside track as I really don't know!

"In the meantime, I am just looking forward to keeping the chair warm for Ray D'Arcy while he takes a well-earned break."

Kathyrn kicked off her column by congratulating TV3's Colette Fitzpatrick on her appointment at Newstalk.

"Congratulations to Colette Fitzpatrick on her new Sunday morning Newstalk show," she wrote.

"I think she is a fantastic broadcaster and it's nice to have another female voice to boost the male-dominated airwaves."
