Being in a long-term relationship is great — you always have someone to go to the movies with and someone who you can come home to at the end of a hard day's work. The downside is that things can get a little too comfortable. But that doesn't mean there isn't room for surprises. Here are a few ways you can surprise your long-term partner:
    Flirt like you mean it

When you and your girl first got together, there must have been a lot of flirting going back and forth. So why forget something that excited you in the beginning? Without warning, start flirting with your girl again. A sexy wink from across the room instead of a smile can go a long way in showing her that while she knows you, you still have a few tricks up your sleeve.

    Real tricks

While flirting is a great way to show her you've still got the hots for her, when it comes to sex, don't slip into the same routine. Spice up your sex life with simple role-playing, sexting or even trying a new position every other week. Sure, you won't be able to master all the moves in the Kamasutra, but we're sure you and your partner will have fun trying out something out of the usual.

    Don't tell

Monday to Sunday can get predictable when you're in a long-term relationship. Even the idea of going out and doing something new will be discussed so much that it fails to incite any real excitement. That's why, one of the best ways to surprise your partner is to plan something new for the both of you without informing the other. It could be anything from a couples massage to a weekend getaway.

    Memory lane

Women are wont to think that most men do not have a romantic bone in their body and have forgotten the minor details of when you first became a couple. Recreating one of your first memorable dates will not only surprise your partner, it will earn you major brownie points.

    The little things

When a couple has been going out for a long time, taking the other for granted and "not listening" to their wants will become an issue. Don't underestimate the power of the little things. Whether it's buying her something small she's been eyeing or simply putting together one of her favourite snacks after a rough day, it will show her that you're still listening to her.
