CB-CID probe sought into Himabindu case

July 30, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 06:10 am IST - VIJAYAWADA:

Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) State vice-president T. Padma on Wednesday held police responsible for acquittal of all the accused in Himabindu murder case and demanded that the investigation be handed over to the CB-CID.

At a media meet here, Ms. Padma said the neither did police curb the atrocities nor do foolproof investigations. The consequence of it was acquittal of all the accused, against whom there was strong circumstantial evidence.

Bharatiya Janata Mahila Morcha city president K. Naga Lakshmi said that the Chief Minister must ensure that there were no slip-ups in the investigation of such grave offences.

Meanwhile, Congress leaders led by former MLA Malladi Vishnu staged a demonstration outside the Police Commissioner’s office demanding that the authorities dismiss police personnel whose ‘dereliction’ of duty led to the acquittal of the accused.
