Counselling for admission of candidates qualified in Telangana EAMCET-2015, to MBBS and BDS courses in that State began at four venues, including Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences (NTRUHS) here, on Wednesday.

The other three places are JNTU and Osmania University (OU) in Hyderabad and Kakatiya University (KU) at Warangal.

On day one, a total of 498 MBBS seats were filled. Of them, 256 were filled at JNTU-H followed by 184 at OU, 118 at NTRUHS and 55 at KU.

Counselling went on smoothly at Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences but it was marred by protests by candidates who wanted the fee under management quota to be brought down, at JNTU-H and OU.

Health Minister Kamineni Srinivas inspected the counselling process at NTRUHS and instructed the officials to ensure that the process went in a smooth manner.
