Officials not meeting expectations: Collector

July 30, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 06:03 am IST - NIZAMABAD:

At a review meeting on Haritha Haram, Swachh Bharat and the proposed Grama Jyoti programmes here on Wednesday, district Collector D. Ronald Rose pointed out that the proposal under the Haritha Haram was to plant 3.35 crore saplings in the district, but the data revealed that only 2.61 crore saplings were planted.

Saying that there was no match between the data available online and the reports submitted by the authorities, he said this exposed the lapses in preparation of data and indicated that the officials did not prepare them by visiting villages and nurseries.

Another meeting would be held on Saturday and by that time, the officials responsible must correct the mistakes, he said.

He seemed annoyed with the officials for not following instructions in terms of information given in the form of SMSes. He said, rather disappointed, that the officials were not delivering on the expectations.

Asking the officials to take up plantation of saplings where there was sufficient rainfall and prepare plans to meet the target, he suggested them to come up with proposals for construction of 100 individual sanitary lavatories in each village under the Swachh Bharat programme.

Mr. Rose asked the authorities to review the data provided during the Intensive Household Survey and if need be it must be revised keeping in view the required infrastructure.
