Heavy rain lashes Himachal

Heavy rain lashed some parts of Kangra, Una and Mandi districts of Himachal Pradesh while moderate rainfall occurred at many places in the State.

Dharamsala was drenched with 178 mm rain, while Amb and Sarkaghat recorded 56 mm and 23 mm followed by Gohar 17 mm, Mandi 16 mm, Salooni 15 mm, Jogindernagar 14 mm, Naina Devi and Arki 12 mm, Palampur 11 mm, Aghar 10 mm, Bangana 9 mm, Bilaspur 6 mm, Baldwara, Pandoh and Baijnath 5 mm.

Minimum temperature remained normal and Kalpa, Manali recorded a low of 13 degree and 13.8 degree followed by Keylong 14.5, Dalhousie 15.2, Shimla 15.7, Dharamsala 16.2, Palampur 19, Solan 19.5, Una 20.1, Bhuntar 20.5, Nahan 21.3 and Sundernagar 22.6 degrees Celsius.

The local MeT office has warned of heavy rain at isolated places in mid and lower hills on Friday and Saturday and rain and thunderstorm at many places throughout the State over the next six days up to August 3. - PTI
