MANOHAR Lal Khattar, the Chief Minister of the Indian state of Haryana, is heading a business delegation of 10-15 leading industrialists to explore business partnerships in Canada from August 21 to 24.

The Canada-India Business Council (C-IBC) has organized business round table discussions in Vancouver and Toronto on August 21 and August 24, respectively.

Last June, a high-level Canadian delegation led by Canadian High Commissioner in India, Nadir Patel, met Khattar and offered help in setting up an horticulture university and to explore possibilities of joint ventures in developing smart cities, according to an IANS report at the time..

Canada also expressed interest in investing in defence technology, education, micro irrigation, skill development, renewable energy, health and industry sectors, he said.

According to Patel, Ontario’s Premier Kathleen Wynne will be heading a business delegation to Haryana on February 2-3.

“I look forward to join hands with Canada for development of Haryana through all possible partnerships between governments, companies and educational institutions,” Khattar was quoted as saying in an official statement.

“We are particularly looking for specialisation in skill development of our youth so that they become more employable,” he said.
