GURGAON: In a reply to an RTI by city-based activist Aseem Takyar, HSIIDC has revealed it has no records of having cleaned two underground water tanks in Udyog Vihar, Phase I, each of eight lakh litre capacity, in the past 5 years.
In an earlier RTI reply, HSIIDC had said it had cleaned tanks in Phase II, III and IV. Dissatisfied, Takyar filed a new RTI, asking for information on the Phase I tanks.

“Udyog Vihar Phase I is an office area. By not cleaning the tanks for five years, despite collecting maintenance charges, the department is toying with public health,” said Takyar.
However, HSIIDC AGM Arun Garg said, “The tanks do not need frequent cleaning as HUDA water is already treated. We’ll take up this matter pronto,” said Animesh Saxsena, president, Udyog Vihar Industrial Association.
