BIHARSHARIF: In view of the upcoming
assembly election, the
Nalanda district administration has planned to launch
voters’ awareness campaign across the district from August 1.
The decision to the effect was taken at the District SVEEP core committee meeting which was chaired by Nalanda DDC Rachna Patil on Monday. SVEEP stands for Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation. A series of activities including putting up banners, posters, hoardings etc has been chalked out.
And besides this, corner meetings, quiz, rangoli and painting contests will also be organized to spread the message of importance of vote among the young voters.
A Face book page ‘Nalanda Votes’ has also been created to attract youngsters.
To reach maximum house holds, the district administration has also planned to rope in services of
Nehru Yuva Kendra, Jeevika and some NGOs and officials from district administration will also be deployed for the better implementation of the programme. To impart more information, a voters’ information centre is intended to be opened in each of the 20 blocks in the district, said Nalanda DDC Rachna Patil.
