Durban - A man accused of attacking and raping a jogger in Howick in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands last month briefly appeared in court on Wednesday.
He was remanded in custody ahead of his next appearance in the Pietermaritzburg Regional Court on August 17.
He cannot be named until he has pleaded in the case.
He is alleged to have attacked and raped a 38-year-old businesswoman while she was out on a morning run.
The woman, from Johannesburg, was allegedly tackled, pulled into a ditch and raped at knife point on Curry's Post Road in Howick on June 13.
She had been visiting her parents in Howick on the long weekend when the incident happened.
