Most of us are guilty of the occasional selfie but new research has revealed that Galwegians are the most narcissistic in the country.

A new study has found that people in Galway take six times as many selfies as those in Ireland’s capital followed closely by snappers in Limerick and Cork.

The research, conducted to launch the Huawei Snapy awards, found that Irish people take more selfies per person than our counterparts in Britain and the USA.

The Irish were found to take eight times as many selfies per capita that those in the UK, and take a staggering 40 times more than counterparts in the USA.

The research found that The Cliffs of Moher remain the most desired Irish landmark to capture within a selfie followed closely by Croke Park and Cork’s Blarney Stone.

Meanwhile, Instagram was found to be the app of choice for younger generations, as one in four admit to using the app to express their creativity.

To celebrate Ireland’s love of selfies Huawei has launched a nationwide competition, The Snapys, to celebrate the country’s amateur photography skills with the chance to win a grand prize this October.
