Shaik N Meera, a senior scientist with Indian Institute of Rice Research (ICAR-IIRR), has bagged the Lal Bahadur Shastri Outstanding Young Scientist Award 2014 instituted by Indian Council of Agricultural Research.
He received Rs one lakh in cash and a citation and “a challenge project for three years with a budgetary provision of Rs 30 lakh and Rs 5 lakh for training abroad,” a press release said here on Wednesday. He led a team in developing the Rice Knowledge Management Portal.
