While it’s rightly deemed as the age of Democracy, rule of Law, Science and Reason, if we refer to the colonial period as the ‘modern age’, we draw a decisive conclusion to the argument whether a lot of what happened before the first Brit landed in Indian shores is actually relevant.
A sizeable part of India’s history is occupied by the Mughals. It began in 1526 with Babur and practically ended with Auranzgeb’s death in 1707. While this death marked the end of an era, the Mughal Empire lasted another fifty years before actually ebbing.
