Institutional Excellence Forum, a Noida-based non-profit organisation, on Wednesday opened a Career Excellence Centre at Mangaluru’s The Yenepoya School.

This is the first centre of IEF in South-India, which has opened CECs in 15 cities in Uttar Pradesh and Assam.

Launching the centre in Mangaluru, Amit Garg, the Managing Trustee of IEF, said through these Centres they are trying to help students decide about careers they can choose by analysing their aptitude, personality and interest. “We have customised the psychiatric assessment test to meet the needs of students of each region. We will be setting up library and also bring in vast amount of resources we have,” Mr. Garg said.

Co-Founder of Pay Mate, Probir Roy, who is also the Managing Trustee of IEF, said through CECs the IEF is trying to create awareness among students in the secondary school of various career opportunities available outside the science, technology, engineering and mathematics fields. The IEF has mapped as many as 750 skills of vocation that students can pursue. The Forum will find the potential of the student and help him or her in choosing a career of their choice. This was an effort to join the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mission of providing vocational skill to 400 million people, he said.

A memorandum of understanding was signed between the IEF and the Yenepoya University for opening the Centre in Mangaluru. It was singed by Manab Misra, Secretary of IEF and Y. Abdulla Kunhi, Chancellor of Yenepoya University. The Centre in Mangaluru will be working with students and teachers from 20 educational institutions, said Mohan Tiwari, the Co-Founder of Students Destination, who is associated with IEF.
