ALLAHABAD: District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) principal has lodged a police complaint against eight aspiring teachers for allegedly procuring admission in BTC through fake marksheets. All these aspirants have been rusticated. DIET principal DK Singh said that the anomaly was unearthed during verification of marksheets and certificates of aspiring teachers selected under BTC-2013.
They were undergoing training to become teachers in government primary schools in various BTC colleges from session 2014-15.
During verification process, it was found that several students had submitted documents of other universities as well. Later, the marksheets and certificates were sent to respective varsities for verification. The examination controller of Lucknow University reported back that among the marksheets sent to him, eight were fake. It was found that the said students had cleared graduation in third division but had submitted marksheets of first division.
These eight students were identified as Pradeep Kumar, Chanda Mishra, Gayatri Devi, Bharat Bhushan, Om Prakash Srivastava, Himanshu Kesarwani, Vinay Kumar Srivastava of Allahabad and Man Singh of Kaushambi. Following LU examination controller’s letter, DIET principal wrote a letter to the SSP on Monday requesting that an FIR be lodged against these students. Singh said that these students were rusticated and added that DM Kaushal Raj Sharma and State Council of Education Research and Training (SCERT) too were apprised of these students’ rustication.
Candidates are selected in BTC exams on the basis on merit obtained by adding their percentage from class 10 to graduation.
