NLC row: statutory notice to TU leaders

The Madras High Court on Tuesday issued statutory notice to leaders of workers unions of Neyveli Lignite Corporation involved in the strike. Hearing a contempt petition filed by M/s Neyveli Lignite Corporation, Justice T. Raja said, “This court is constrained to issue statutory notice to the respondents.” M/s.Neyveli Lignite Corporation Limited had in their plea alleged violation of the order passed by High Court on June 29 by NLC Workers Progressive Union general secretary S. Rajavannian and NLC Anna Workers and Staff Union Secretary R. Udayakumar.— Special Correspondent
