Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan described the death of former President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam as a great national loss and paid his homage to the “great soul”.
Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao said that the void created by the death of former President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam could not be filled.
Not only as President, Mr. Rao said Dr. Kalam’s services in various fields enhanced the prestige of the country. He recalled the research undertaken by Dr. Kalam who earned for himself the sobriquet of ‘missile man of India. Dr. Kalam was a great human being, Mr. Rao said. Deputy Chief Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali said the country lost a great scientist in Dr. Kalam’s death.
Kodela Sivaprasada Rao, AP Speaker, expressed grief and observed that it was a great loss to the nation.
YSR Congress president Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy said Dr. Kalam’s services to the country, space research in particular, were widely appreciated world over. He had propelled the country into the global orbit of celestial science.
BJP Telangana State president G. Kishan Reddy said the sudden death of Dr. Kalam was shocking as the country lost a visionary leader and a great scientist who was the architect of missile technology. He was a great scholar and inspiration to the youth of the country. BJP floor leader in Assembly K. Laxman also expressed his profound condolence.
The national council member of CPI K. Narayana said Dr. Kalam started his life from the lowest strata to reach the peak. Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee president N. Raghuveera Reddy said India lost a legendary, visionary and an inspirational scientist. Telugu Desam senior leaders Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, L. Ramana, Ravula Chandrasekhar Reddy, Galla Jayadev and Kambhampati Ramamohan Rao also expressed their condolences.
