SVYM gets Best NGO in India Award

The Swami Vivekananda Youth Movement (SVYM), Mysuru, has been bestowed with the Best NGO in India Award.

SVYM, which runs eight institutions and more than 50 projects in health, education, socio-economic empowerment, training, research and advocacy areas in the State, has received the distinction for adhering to the highest standards of resource mobilisation, accountability and transparency in day-to-day functioning, said its founder and president R. Balasubramaniam, in a statement here.

SVYM had been shortlisted out of the 300 participants invited for the India NGO Awards instituted by the Resource Alliance and sponsored by EdelGive Foundation and The Rockefeller Foundation.

SVYM was one of the top five NGOs selected for the award. . Mr. Balasubramaniam made a presentation during the final jury round held on July 23 in New Delhi. SVYM vice-president Seetharam M.R. received the award on July 24 in New Delhi.

It is instituted by the Resource Alliance and sponsored by EdelGive Foundation and The Rockefeller Foundation
