Witness warrant issued to investigation officer

July 29, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:44 am IST - Tuticorin:

Fast Track Mahila Court Judge J. Flora on Tuesday issued witness warrant to K.S. Saravanan, Inspector of Police, who was formerly stationed in Meignanapuram in Tuticorin district.

He was the investigation officer for a murder case reported on December 16 in 2012.

G. Sundarssingh alias Alex (38) of J.J. Nagar, Udangudi, was accused of murdering his daughter in 2012.

The Judge said 12 witnesses had already adduced in this case. But this investigation officer was purposely evading receiving summons citing one reason or the other.

Summons had been issued since April 18 this year. This case has been unnecessarily pending awaiting the appearance of this investigation officer to depose evidence, the Judge said.
