SHABQADAR: Residents of Prang Ghar in Mohmand Agency fear that Moto Shah Dam will burst at any moment and cause widespread damage. Insiders familiar with the matter told The Express Tribune, these concerns have only grown stronger after heavy rain lashed the region. Locals are of the view that the water level in the dam has crossed the red line. “This could result in a breakage in the dam,” a local said. However, Assistant Political Agent of Lower Mohmand Agency Sajid Nawaz Khan told The Express Tribune on Tuesday there is nothing to worry about. “The water level has not crossed the red line,” he said. “The situation is under control.” The political agent and officials of FATA Development Authority (FDA) visited the dam last week. “So far, no such threats have been reported,” he said. Speaking to The Express Tribune, FDA official Tariq Khan said the media has created unnecessary panic about the matter.
