GURGAON: The family of auto driver Kamal Dang, who was killed during the attack on gangster Rakesh Hayatpur on MG Road on July 15, has not received any compensation.
In protest, the CNG Auto Drivers' Welfare Association is planning to submit a memorandum to the chief minister through the deputy commissioner on Wednesday.
"He lost his life owing to lawlessness but nobody cared to do anything for his family.
As a start, we plan to submit a memorandum and we will intensify our stir if there is no response," said Mahender Singh, president of the association.
On July 15, Rakesh Hayatpur, an accused in over 18 cases, was attacked as he came out in his SUV from Beverly Park I on MG Road. Even though he survived the attack, his driver sustained injuries and Kamal Dang was killed in the incident.
Police are yet to arrest all the accused and the shooters, despite setting themselves a 48-hour deadline.
The five suspects in the case are Narender; his nephew and gangster Sandeep alias Dabbu, who is in Bhondsi jail and is believed to have hatched the plot to eliminate Rakesh; Kapil; Harender; and Bishambar. Except for Dabbu and Kapil, who are in jail and have been questioned by cops in connection with the case, the three other accused are all at large.
