GHAZIABAD: Three persons have arrested for allegedly kidnapping a 28-year-old man and a 14-year-old boy in Sahibabad. Ashok Shah (28) and Nitin Mishra (14), who were kidnapped on Sunday night were freed
on Monday. The kidnappers, identified as Joginder, Vineet and Jatin, residents of Karkardooma, were arrested the same day.
Police said the car-borne miscreants had kidnapped Ashok and Nitin from the house of one Ompal Singh (22) in Lajpat Nagar (Ghaziabad) late on Sunday night.
Ashok is a resident of Khajoori Khas while Nitin is the son of a priest in a temple in Anand Vihar.
Ompal, a private parking contractor, told TOI that Ashok and Nitin were guests in his house on Sunday night, when the kidnappers came looking for him.
According to Ompal, Ashok and Nitin had arrived separately from Delhi for the birthday party of Banshi (18), who also lives in Lajpat Nagar, on Sunday.
"As it was late when the party got over, Banshi asked me to accommodate Ashok and Nitin in my house so that they could go to their homes in Delhi next morning. I asked both of them to sleep downstairs and I went to the first floor," he said.
Ompal said that a little before midnight, about a dozen people arrived in two vehicles, a Santro and a Safari
Dicor, at his house looking for him. They were led by some people who had an old enmity against him regarding parking contracts. He said he sneaked to the terrace of his house and when they did not find him, they thrashed Ashok and Nitin and took them away.
An FIR was lodged at the Sahibabad police station against them under various sections of the IPC including 364 (kidnapping) and 506 (criminal intimidation) on Monday. "They have been sent to judicial custody
Further investigations are underway," said Sahibabad SHO Hardayal Yadav.
