GREATER NOIDA: Noida Power Company Limited (NPCL), the private power distribution utility for Greater Noida, launched a mobile application called NPCL on Tuesday for all smartphone users and residents of Greater Noida. The application is expected to be a one-point stop for all power-related problems such as billing and complaints for residents of Greater Noida.
The app, which can be downloaded from google store and also from the company website namely www.noidapower.com after registration, comes with many facilities. It provides for online payment of bills, details of outstanding dues, copies of previous bills, details of past invoices and logging of bill/meter-related complaints - all on your fingertips.
NPCL managing director Ramesh Chandra Agarwal said the app would give consumers the service instantly while they are on the move. "Being a pioneer in adopting smart technology, it was our vision to introduce a mobile app to bring in complete transformation in consumer service," he said.
The app was functional and in use by consumers from the very day of launch. Anil Sharma, a resident of CHI-5 near Yamuna Expressway in Greater Noida, was happy with the app.
"It's a very good application which I downloaded from play store on my Android handset. This app can be downloaded on all smartphones. After downloading, I was able to download copies of my previous power bills in PDF format. I also checked for outstanding dues which as of now were none as I'd cleared my last bill," Sharma said.
The new mobile application by NPCL was internally developed by a team of three members from the company's IT wing. It took the team six months to develop the App which included three months of pilot testing internally. "We wanted all consumers of Greater Noida to have instant connect with the company for all their power related problems and with this application, we've managed to achieve that," said Agarwal.
