MISSISSAUGA: The largest South Asian festival in Canada, Bollywood Monster Mashup (BMM) presented by TD, will feature the first-ever Canadian performance of Bollywood’s singing star Ash King, known for hit songs like Te Amo, Aunty Ji, I Love You and Meherbaan.
“The fifth annual Bollywood Monster Mashup is back bigger and better,” says Vikas Kohli, BMM Executive Director. “We are the largest South Asian festival in Canada and this year we are the only festival bringing Bollywood headliners to Mississauga Celebration Square! BMM will be a weekend of monstrous entertainment, multitudes of free activities for kids and families and absolutely fantastic concerts showcasing national and international stars.”
Bollywood Monster Mashup 2015 features the first-ever Canadian performance by Bollywood’s hit-maker Ash King – voice of popular songs like Aunty Ji, Te Amo, I Love You and Meherbaan for stars like Salman Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Imran Khan and many more.
Jonita Gandhi, Bollywood’s YouTube sensation and voice of Chennai Express, will headline the Friday concert. Jonita has sung with music maestros like A.R. Rahman, Sonu Nigam and Saleem-Sulemaan, among many others.
The event offers a weekend of live music and dance with a full band, along with a variety of world-class acts such as a professional Bollywood dance troupe, a West-Indian steel pan group and a Tassa band. BMM also features:
- The Bollywood Monster KidZone, where parents can bring their kids for free, fun Pan American-inspired and Bollywood-themed games, dance lessons and make-it-and-take-it arts and crafts
- For the first time ever, Tassa in the Square performances by a Canadian tassa drum band
- The Bollywood Monster Film Festival curated by FILMI Toronto and Bollywood Monster Film Shorts curated by Reel Asian International Film Festival, will light up the massive outdoor screens, where audiences can enjoy a special selection of short films and animations from Canadian and international directors
- The TD Dancers, who will entertain the crowd with a high-energy Bollywood fusion dance and then guide spectators through a fun and free Bollywood dance lesson
- A bigger and better Bollywood Monster Marketplace with amazing food and unique crafts from around the world
