It has already been confirmed that the Renault Captur will be arriving here sometime in the fourth quarter of this year – ahead of its market debut, TC Euro Cars will be previewing the crossover at the Centre Court of Bangsar Shopping Centre (BSC) from tomorrow, July 29 to August 2.
Now, an ad for the Captur has surfaced on oto.my, offering an indicative pricing of RM120,000 for the car. The details in the ad reiterate that which is already known about the local variant – it’ll be equipped with a 120 hp/190 Nm 1.2 litre turbocharged TCe engine paired with a six-speed EDC dual-clutch transmission.
The listing also mentions that the the bi-tone exterior will be available in four colours, and the Malaysian Captur will ride on 17-inch bi-tone wheels.
If the pricing holds to that suggested, the Captur has every chance of doing well, and there may be more even more positive news down the line – the brand is expecting to introduce another locally-assembled (CKD) model next year, and the Captur is widely tipped to be one of the candidates. If so, the move could lower the price significantly.

120k… wow… go for mazda CX3 or HRV better… Renault Malaysia can keep their captur in the warehouse to collect dust…
Isnt Captur one of the top SUVs in Europe?. Gonna go to Bangsar and take a look at this car. Exterior wise looks hot.
Renault is doing good. But TC euro has to buck up with more dealer and service centre.
Rebadge as a Nissan and it ll sell more.
I agree!
I have seen reviews about comparisons between HRV and Captur and I can say it’s about 60-40. Alot of people are saying HRV is practical however it’s boring compared to the Captur. It’s like the head is saying Honda but the heart says Renault.
So Euro’s top selling SUV is here to compete…interesting but the price might be an issue since most Malaysians do not know this brand but the CKD price will make sense if joined with proper marketing.
I think the price is competitive and around the same price range as CX3 and HRV. If CKD , this car will sell like roti canai.
while u have a point that price plays a role, i think it all goes down to Malaysian buyers not knowing (or trusting) the brand. take Renault Fluence. priced very competitively against its c-segment rivals, japanese, kimchis n germans alike. but even after they promo it at 99k last year, take up still not that great, for a decently specced car.
Captur looks great inside out…those long que for HRV might now consider this while Mazda is loosing more potential customer seems the CX3 only to deliver to customer around CNY 2016…
Interesting and competitive market
Honda HRV
Mazda CX3
Hyundai Ix25
Renault Capture
Peugeot 2008
Ford Ecosport
Actually this segment started during the Suzuki vitara era in the 90s. but consider as a small jeep.
Dont forget Subaru XV also..a good car but under rated…
looks so much betterthan the Highly Rotten Vehicle…see oso i wBt to spiiit at the car
Exterior look nice but interior not nice leh..same as Nissan car.. many people said is old man car leh …but is good car… I think better let me give some idea to design it la.. and the price is too high la.. not easy to market it oh… should be under 100 k la… if can sell Ard 80k will be sell like a hot cake like suzuki swift…Honda HRV selling coz of the pricing.but interior so so only la… I better prefer subaru XV…if price is 120 to 130 k… go design and performance too.. I m interested in car since I was 12 yrs old that time Datsun 120Y…
