Sanskrit words make Ajay Devgn feel lucky!

Mumbai: Ajay Devgn approaches his films in a very unique way. The actor who has two National Awards to his credit, is apparently in favour of using Sanskrit words as titles for his films.

According to a DNA report, Ajay, who will soon be back on the silverscreen with ‘Drishyam’, feels that using Sanskrit words as film titles is a new trend. Interestingly, one of Ajay’s most successful films was titled ‘Omkara’, a word derived from Sanskrit.

However, his most ambitious directorial project - Shivaay – unintentionally turned out to be a Sanskrit word.

“Someone suggested if we should have Drishya as a title but then again it was similar to Drishyam. I remember people debated massively at the time of Singham as they felt it was a Sanskrit word and pan-India audience won't pick it up easily. However, we loved the tone of it and rest is history. Same holds true for Drishyam too," DNA quoted Ajay as saying.

Incidentally, India’s biggest film- ‘Baahubali’ too is derived from a Sanskrit word. Directed by SS Rajamouli, ‘Baahubali’ has become one of India’s most successful films of all times.
