A day after water release was stepped up from 2,000 cusecs to 6,000 cusecs for the Aadi Perukku festival, the water level at Stanley Reservoir in Mettur stood at 94.40 feet against its full reservoir level of 120 feet.
The inflow continued to recede from 12,926 cusecs on Sunday to 12,561 cusecs on Monday morning as the storage improved from 57.28 tmcft to 57.82 tmcft against the dam’s capacity of 93.470 tmcft.
Power generation
Also, the power generation at the Tunnel Power House increased to 39 Megawatts on Monday.
Public Works Department said that the increase in water release would continue till August 3 and water release for delta irrigation would be made after the Chief Minister’s order.
